Shippo documentation

shippo docs

Everything in the theme, written down: how to install it, how to set up your store and checkout, every section with its settings and blocks, the theme settings, the templates, the limits and the changelog. Read it before you buy or keep it open while you build.

Theme version 0.1.0Updated 29 October 202632 sections documentedChecked against the theme files on every build

The demo store asks for a password: bairte. Prices there are shown in USD.

Quick start

You get a ZIP with the theme, a license key for one store, this guide as a file, a style kit and three sample products. Nothing is public until you click Publish.

  1. In your Shopify admin open Online Store, then Themes.
  2. Click Add theme, then Upload zip file, and choose shippo-theme.zip from the package (the inner ZIP).
  3. When the upload finishes, click Customize to open the theme editor.
  4. In the editor open Theme settings, License, and paste the license key from your purchase page.
  5. Optional: in Products, Import, upload demo-data/products.csv to see the theme with content. The sample products import as drafts, so customers never see them. Best done in a development store or a store that is not open yet.
The sample matcha products and their photos are demo content and are not part of the license. Replace every photo and text with your own before you publish the store. The style kit in the package has an image prompt for every photo slot.

Set up your store

  • Sections. Content, images, colors and layout settings are edited in the theme editor. Add, remove and reorder sections on each page. On the product page the title, price and buy button keep a fixed place; app blocks can be added between the other blocks.
  • Colors and fonts. Theme settings, Colors and Layout. Fonts are hosted inside the theme, so the storefront makes no Google Fonts requests.
  • Logo. The round badge in the top left corner of the header is the link to your home page. Keep the text mark or upload a round logo in the Header settings. The style kit, part 3, has a ready prompt for making one.
  • Menus. The header shows your Shopify navigation; sub-menus open on hover and tap. Footer columns take their own menus in the Footer settings.
  • Bundle cards. On the product page, a product option named as you set it in the Product section (for example Single, Duo, Trio) is shown as cards with the price and the saving. They are variants of one product, priced and stocked in Shopify. The theme does not combine separate products or share one stock pool between the sets.
  • Cart add-on. In the Cart drawer section choose an add-on product, for example a gift note. With the message field on, the customer’s text is saved on the order line as a property called Note.
  • Contact page. In Pages, open your contact page and choose the template page.contact. It shows a form that sends mail to your store email; any text you write in the page appears above the form.
  • Several currencies. Use Shopify Markets and set a fixed price per market on each variant. The theme shows whatever price Shopify gives it and converts nothing itself.
  • Before you publish. The founder’s letter, FAQ answers, shipping and return promises, product texts and photos describe the demo brand. Check every text and keep only the promises you can keep.

Checkout and thank-you page

The checkout and the thank-you page are not part of any theme. Shopify keeps them separate, so set them once in your admin so the last step of the purchase looks like your store. Open Settings, Checkout, then Customize. The editor has two panels: the section list (first icon) and Settings (the gear icon).

  1. Logo: in the section list open Header, then Logo, and upload your logo. The round header badge works well.
  2. Settings, Main section: Background #FFFBEF.
  3. Settings, Header: Background #FFFBEF, Accent #2F5A22 (links and the cart icon).
  4. Settings, Accent and buttons: Accent #2F5A22, Button #2F5A22.
  5. Section list, Order summary: Background #F1EFEA, Accent #2F5A22. This is the right-hand column with the products and the total.
  6. Settings, Typography: a clean sans-serif for headings and body. If Funnel Sans is offered, use it, because it is the body font of the theme.
  7. Click Save.

Use your own values from Theme settings, Colors if you changed the palette. The thank-you page uses the same colors and logo. To add your own words there, change the order confirmation email in Settings, Notifications. Extra blocks on the thank-you page need an app; deeper changes to the checkout layout need Shopify Plus or an app. Check the result with a test order.

Sections, one by one

32 sections, read straight from the theme files. Each entry lists where the section is used, what it does, and every setting and block with the note you see in the editor. Screenshots of each section are being added; for now, open the demo store to see them live.

Good to know and limits

  • Built for one product or a small range. Catalog navigation is basic: a collection grid, a collection list and search.
  • The variant picker handles products with up to 250 variants. Selling plans (subscriptions) are not supported.
  • Bundle cards are variants of one product. The theme does not combine separate products.
  • Sub-menus show one level below the main menu.
  • Social links in Theme settings need a full address starting with https://.
  • The slide-in cart and the product form need JavaScript. Without it, customers use the cart page and a plain variant list.
  • No third-party JavaScript libraries and no external font requests in the storefront code.
  • Products with complex options or custom product apps: check them on a duplicate theme first, or write before buying.

Updates

Feature updates are included for 12 months after purchase. Each update is a new theme ZIP with a changelog. Bug fixes for the version you bought are not time-limited. Installing a new ZIP does not move your settings, so update like this:

  1. Upload the new ZIP as a new theme. Do not publish it yet.
  2. On both themes open Actions, then Edit code.
  3. Copy the contents of config/settings_data.json and the files in templates/ from your old theme into the same files of the new theme. If the changelog says the new version adds settings, add only your own values and keep the new keys.
  4. Preview the new theme, then publish it. Keep the old theme as a backup for a few days.

Your theme settings live in config/settings_data.json; the content of every page (sections, texts, images, order) lives in templates/*.json.

Changelog

  • 0.1.0, 27 October 2026. First public version.
    • Cart drawer: every quantity change goes through one queue, the controls lock while a request is in flight, the Check out button waits until an unsaved gift note is stored, and a failed request no longer leaves the buttons disabled.
    • Product form works with JavaScript off (plain variant list and cart page); the mobile menu is visible without JavaScript.
    • Product titles, option names, menu labels and JSON in script tags are escaped; social links accept only http and https.
    • Cart drawer is a real dialog: focus stays inside, the page behind is inert, Escape closes it.
    • Ticker, customer videos and the rotating announcement bar have a visible pause button; everything that moves respects the reduced-motion setting.
    • Product cards show "From" when variants differ in price; choosing a variant scrolls the gallery to its photo; one H1 per page; section anchors stay unique when a section is used twice.
    • Coming soon section with a secret mode (no image, blacked-out lines); customer videos section; contact page template with a form; "Designed by Kamiwaza Studio" line in the footer, with a switch.

Support and license

  • Support and updates: support@kamiwazastudio.com. Include your license key. We usually reply within one or two business days.
  • Support covers installation and reproducible theme bugs. Custom design work, store setup and third-party app configuration are quoted separately.
  • Shopify support sends third-party theme issues back to the developer, so write to us directly.
  • One license covers one Shopify store. You can move it between stores you own, one at a time. Read the license.

FAQ

Do I have to sell matcha?

No. The matcha set is only demo content so you can see the theme in a fully populated demo store. Replace it with your own products, images and copy. The layout is built around one product or a small range, so it suits a small catalog best. If your products have many variants, subscriptions or custom product apps, write to us before buying and we will tell you whether it fits.

Why choose Shippo instead of a free theme like Dawn?

Choose Shippo if you want a ready-made visual direction for one main product: large photography, product storytelling and a focused buying flow. Choose a broader theme if you need extensive catalogue navigation or many different store layouts.

Can I use the demo photos on my store?

Not on a live store. The sample products import with our demo photos so your store is not empty while you set it up, but the photos and videos are preview content and are not part of the license. Replace them with your own before you publish. The style kit in the package has image prompts for every photo slot.

Do I need apps?

No apps are required for the features shown here. The slide-in cart, bundle cards, sticky bar and the other features on this page are part of the theme itself. The product page has a block where Shopify apps can be added; some integrations, for example subscriptions or product personalisation, may need development.

How do the bundle cards handle inventory?

The Single, Duo and Trio cards are variants of one product, so each card has its own stock count in Shopify. A Duo sale lowers the Duo stock only; the Single stock stays as it was. The theme does not share one stock pool between the sets or combine separate products. If your sets must draw from one stock count, write to us before buying.

How do I install it?

In your Shopify admin go to Online Store > Themes > Add theme > Upload ZIP file and choose the Shippo ZIP from your download. The theme appears in your theme library, where you set it up and publish it when you are ready. The install guide in the package walks through this and the first settings, and the online documentation lists every section and setting. Installation questions go directly to me; Shopify support sends third-party theme issues back to the developer.

Does it work with subscriptions or products with many variants?

Subscriptions (selling plans) are not supported. Shippo supports products with up to 250 variants. If your product needs more variants or complex product options, write to us before buying.

How do updates work?

Feature updates are included for 12 months. Each update is a new theme ZIP with installation instructions. Your current theme keeps working after that period. Installing a new ZIP does not automatically transfer your store theme settings, so add the new version as a separate theme, compare it with your live one and publish it when you are happy. After the 12 months, new versions may be offered separately.

Who makes and supports Shippo?

Made and supported by Artur Kociuba. Kamiwaza Studio is my independent Shopify theme studio in Rzeszów, Poland. I design, build and support Shippo directly.

How are the themes made?

Every theme starts with an idea and a sketch on paper. Sometimes the vision comes straight from my head, sometimes I look at how other stores present their products and then design something of my own. I choose the layout, type, colors and sections, and I test each theme in a real Shopify store before it is sold. I use AI tools to write the code and to create the demo photos and videos. Demo store imagery is AI-generated and for preview only.

Can you set it up for me?

Yes, as an optional paid service that is quoted separately. Write to us with a short description of your store.
